Winter’s Eve—It Took A Village…
Thank you, Corvallis, for making Winter’s Eve 2009 a huge success. The food and beverages were exceptional, thanks to our great local restaurants and caterers. The shopping bargains helped many with their holiday shopping, thanks to our supportive local merchants. Our tent’s ambiance and our ticket-holders’ enthusiasm made our downtown event a great place to meet (and eat!) A festive spirit reigned over all.
An event of this size requires much planning in the months leading up to the big night, and it requires the help of almost every able-bodied member of the organization during the event. But a successful event takes more than just planning and staffing. The support of the community is vital. Frankly, with this uncertain economy, we were worried. But, once again, Corvallis came through! We raised over $30,000.00 to help fund our five philanthropic projects, primarily Operation School Bell, which provides clothing for children so that they can attend school and concentrate on learning. Assistance League thanks all who participated, as do many children and adults in Benton County.
