We are a nonprofit, volunteer organization which has focused for forty-seven years on responding to our local community’s needs by developing, implementing and funding ongoing programs assisting children and adults in a variety of programs.
Assistance League of Corvallis is one of 120 chapters under National Assistance League® which supports community based philanthropic programs. Operation School Bell®, clothing children in need, is the signature program that all chapters support. It is then up to each chapter to determine how they can best support the additional needs of their community. You can read detailed information about each of our local programs on this site.
Assistance League of Corvallis has enriched the lives of over 3,000 individuals through the programs that support our Mission Statement of Transforming the lives of children and adults through community programs. What makes our organization especially unique is that as a nonprofit volunteer group of 200 we have no salaried staff. In fiscal year 2016/17, we logged in excess of 19,000 hours of volunteered service valued at $24.42 an hour, or $463,980*.
Our programs and administrative services are funded by grants, donations, a direct mail campaign, and two annual fundraising events; Galleria, which will be October 21, 2017 and Winter’s Eve Corvallis on December 1, 2017. We rely on community support and the time and talents of our volunteers.
